Hitchens vs Wilson, in 6 Parts

I seem to have been absent from the blogosphere as of late, but things have been a little hectic with work and being sick...so I'll be doing a little catch up this morning.

Christianity Today recently hosted a 6 part debate between Christopher Hitchens and Douglas Wilson in response to the recent publication of Hitchens' new book, God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. For those that don't know, Christopher Hitchens is a political commentator for Slate.com, originially from Britain, and a self proclaimed atheist or, more descriptively, an anti-theist; Douglas Wilson on the other hand is the Christian minister, professor and prolific writer from Moscow, ID.

Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6

Mark Roberts, the senior minister of First Presbyterian Church in Irvine, CA, has likewise posted a series of responses to Hitchen's book.
It seems that there have been an increasing number of pro-atheist books as of late that seem to have garnered broad appeal and have made the NY Times bestseller list. Authors like Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens have attacked faith as being irrational. I am thankful to the faithful attentiveness of men like Roberts and Wilson who speak out against these books and work to respond to the claims made by the authors.

I'll leave you with this quote from John Calvin: “A dog barks when his master is attacked. I would be a coward if I saw God’s Truth was attacked and yet would remain silent.”
